Hi all you beautiful ladies from South Africa. My name is Sjarma du Toit and I am the new owner of Whimsical Wear & Whimsies. I am very much delighted & excited to take this existing shoe brand, which Tanya Krause started in 2017, to a new & refreshing look with all her great ideas still on files to be designed.
Here is a little background of myself.
I am the founder & owner of Charming shoes SA www.charmingshoessa.co.za which I started in 2017 after teaching myself hands-on how to make shoes. I am a very creative person with a strong dedicated will to finish my ideas when I started exploring the manufacturing side at factories in Durban, Port Elizabeth & Cape Town. At first nobody wanted to help me in this industry except those who wanted thousands of rands which I did not have because I was broke, but I persevered and kept on asking, phoning and irritating people all over to at last do what I needed to do to follow my passion.
I will dedicate my time & energy the same way I do with Charming shoes SA, to build on Tanya’s dream & passion for designing with this stunning Whimsical Footwear brand.
Together we will work with a local factory, 30 years in manufacturing footwear, so that you our client can experience first hand how a local brand don’t have to stand back for any imported shoes to South Africa. Every small piece needed to build your perfect pair are sourced from the best suppliers & resources in the country. We aim to keep our prices as low as possible so that it can be affordable to most ladies even as the economy is tight. We want you to be proud to say you wear the most comfortable & funky shoes you have ever possessed!
This is such a privilege for me and my husband, Pieter to be part of this wonderful new adventure with all of the Whimsies followers & fans. I believe that together with each one of you supporting us with a friendly word, Facebook like and best wishes, we will gladly bring this footwear brand to the full potential it was created to be from the start so that not just our dream, but Tanya’s dream as well, can also be built on the love and passion for shoes it deserves.We have a dedicated team already in place with amazing ideas!

It started with a dream to create comfortable but funky flats at an affordable price. Tanya Krause, founder of Whimsical Wear, had a love affair with shoes. All kinds made her heart go wild. She loved pretty and funky shoes and needed it to be practical or comfortable, as long as it looked beautiful and made you wish you had a pair in your cupboard!In 2017 she decided to create her own funky but comfortable shoes, locally made (this was another great passion of hers) at affordable prices. The first collection was called Whimsies. Whimsies are cute flats designed for comfort and to make a statement. These were so popular, she created a second collection which included a Breast Cancer Awareness drive (Hope)
While finishing her shoe design course she played around with numerous designs for platforms, wedges and children shoes. Unfortunately she was diagnosed with cancer in September 2021 and although she fought bravely with everything she had, she lost her battle in May 2022.
Her dream lives on through her love and passion for shoes. The team at Whimsical Wear is continuing her legacy and will honour her with the same love and passion.
